Offices, hospitals, doctors’ rooms, restaurants and other public spaces can be a breeding ground for harmful bacteria, necessitating innovative approaches to keeping the lurgies at bay. Enter Plascon’s Professional Hygiene range of paint.

Scientifically formulated using the company’s silver ion technology, the low-sheen paint is available in a range of pastel shades and provides antimicrobial protection against germ build-up. It’s designed to be effective for the duration of the paint’s lifetime and, with a low VOC rate of less than 16g per litre, it complies with GBCSA guidelines too. ‘Tests show that our hygiene paint reduces the staphylococcus aureus count to less than 1% after six hours,’ says Carol Ras, Plascon market manager (professional). The paint, she says, is ‘ideal for any hygiene-sensitive environment – whether an old-age home, clinic, hotel or hospital’, adding that professionals can focus on the task at hand knowing that health standards are being taken care of.
