The focus of the 11th Green Building Convention – taking place in Cape Town this October – will be on buildings that achieve Net Zero carbon emissions, and construction methods that have a Net Zero impact on water, waste and ecology.

Environmentalist, entrepreneur, author and activist Paul Hawken will present the keynote address on the economy of Net Zero. In addition, delegates can network, explore exhibitions and participate in several interactive and brainstorming sessions led by local and international speakers, including Lynette Ntuli, founding director and CEO of Innate Investment Solutions; James Law, the architect and entrepreneur responsible for creating the cybertecture philosophy; sustainability strategist and environmental designer Ed Garrod; and Mitchell Joachim, co-founder of Terreform One.

‘Sustainable leadership takes courage. It involves doing things differently. It requires changing mindsets and breaking down boundaries. It is pioneering. It is ambitious. It is audacious,’ says Dorah Modise, CEO of the Green Building Council of South Africa. ‘I invite you to join us in the race to zero.’
